Field Oriented Control (FOC) is called Vector Control that uses a reverse electromotive force of sine wave. This technology enables high efficiency and high precision position control when using a motor.

BLDC

Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors are called Synchronous DC motors, that uses a reverse electromotive force of trapezoid or square wave. It shows an excellent performance when operating in low-speed environment. When operating at low torque, a BLDC motor has less efficiency and high-speed control is relatively difficult, however you can design a low-speed system at low cost. Optic sensors

ABOV Semiconductor offers a portfolio of light and color sensors with high sensitivity and wide dynamic range. It helps reduce the power consumption of applied applications by implementing display brightness control and accurate color measurement and discrimination. The AL8844 product is equipped with technology for precise color measurement and discrimination.
A filter that blocks IR components is applied in the visible light region, and highly accurate color measurement is possible through its own data processing algorithm.

Power solutions

ABOV has Universal Fast Charger (UFC) MCUs and Wireless Charger MCUs for power solutions. The UFC MCU supports USB PD3.0 and Legacy Fast Charging, and allows users to control the Universal Fast Charging (UFC) IP using Software and implement High-Speed Interface. The Wireless Charger MCU makes the single chip configuration of Wireless Power Transmission possible using the UFC IP.

ABOV Semiconductor s Power Solution provides UFC (Universal Fast Charger) MCU and Wireless Charger MCU. UFC MCU is an MCU that supports USB PD3.0 and Legacy high-speed charging. Fire & Safety Solution

Fire alarm and smoke detector systems in apartments, homes, and industrial sites are essential devices because they are directly connected to human life. Their importance is growing, and it is a trend that these systems integrate more sensors and connect to more systems wirelessly. Network Smoke Detector MCUs

For the Network Smoke Detector, there are two types of MCUs based on the 8051: the A96L3x2 series and One-chip product A96L523. Specifically, A96L523 is a One-chip Product that integrates power line communications.

ABOV’s Freestanding Smoke Detector MCU incorporates Low Noise Op-Amp and LED Drive, and includes precision LDO for ADC power. With these features, it can measure ADC regardless of battery voltage value and be driven with less than 1.5uA current consumption in Sleep mode which is Low Current mode.

Stand Alone Smoke Detector MCUs

ABOV Semiconductor’s fire and safety product lineup addresses the entire spectrum of the low- to high-end markets. Integrating a high precision analog front-end circuitry, these MCUs provide the most optimized solution for smoke detectors and heat detectors.

ABOV’s R series microcontroller meets all requirements of IR Remote Controller and RF Remote Controller applications. With a balanced architecture specializing in the Remote Controller applications, it incorporates a variety of functions, low power technology, and high-efficient processor in a single chip. Low cost, robustness, long product life, and significantly reduced power consumption are the optimal features of R series that satisfy the requirements of the Remote Controller applications.

LCD Remote Controller MCUs

ABOV’s LCD Remote Controller MCU mainly supports Segment LCD Driver, Push Button, and digital interfaces like SPI, UART and I2C. In addition, it provides Power Management and Low Power mode (0.5uA@Stop mode) to optimize the battery life.
A96R LCD product line is based on M8051 core. As an efficient microcontroller for the next generation, it is an upgraded product in terms of reducing BOM costs, reducing current consumption, and improving performance.

ABOV’s A96R UR series supports a patented IR Learning Function which shows world’s best performance (World’s Longest IR Learning Distance and World’s Largest Frequency Range).
It is optimized for Universal Remote Controller applications such as a remote controller for TV and set-top box that controls many different devices. A96R UR series features Low Power mode (1.0uA@Stop Mode), Key Scan (M-key/ T-key), and various sizes of memory ranging from 16KB to 96KB.

ABOV Semiconductor’s Universal Remote Control Microcontrollers are optimized for remote controller applications, especially for multi-purpose remote controllers commonly used by TVs and set-top boxes that need to control various different devices with a single controller. G1 Series

G1 series is a new product line of ABOV’s 8-bit MCU family. They applied new system architecture design technology and IPs to the G1 series, and used new process to optimize product size and improve performance.

Legacy MCUs

ABOV’s Legacy MCUs include 4-bit and 8-bit products such as ADAM cores that were developed in the past. Since all products listed below are now replaced by high performance 8-bit MCUs, they do not promote the legacy MCUs any longer. However, ABOV maintains and provides technical information and data of them for users who mass-produce legacy MCUs.

It is a 4-bit/8-bit product family developed with its own ADAM core, G800 Core, MC8x Series, and MC9x Series among ABOV Semiconductor’s past product lines. Currently, the following product lines have been replaced with higher performance 8-bit MCUs and are no longer promoted.

Optic Sensors

ABOV has a portfolio of Light Sensor and Color Sensor product lines that support high sensitivity and wide dynamic range. This can help reduce power consumption of the applications by implementing Display Brightness Control and Precision Color Identification.
AL8844 is applied with the technology of precision color measurement and identification. A filter is applied in the visible light region to block IR component and ABOV’s own data processing algorithm enables the precision color measurement and identification.

ABOV Semiconductor offers a portfolio of light and color sensors with high sensitivity and wide dynamic range. It helps reduce the power consumption of applied applications by implementing display brightness control and accurate color measurement and discrimination. The AL8844 product is equipped with technology for precise color measurement and discrimination.
A filter that blocks IR components is applied in the visible light region, and highly accurate color measurement is possible through its own data processing algorithm.

Logic Touch Sensors

ABOV’s Capacitive Touch product line supports High-sensitivity and Low Power mode, and is available for a wide variety of applications. Years of field-proven Touch Engines provide Auto Sensitivity Calibration to offer user convenience.
AT31xx series is an 8 channels (12 channels) Capacitive Touch Sensor. With High-sensitivity and Low Power capabilities, it can be applied to any type of application at minimum settings.

Driver ICs

Segment LED Driver is used for the Mixed Signal LED Driver application in the system. This product offers the solutions for Power Management, Signal Condition and Smart Interface, and significantly improves user’s power efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Segment LCD Driver is used for the general interface system of LCD Display that has analog and digital inputs. Data Bus and Pixel Clocks can process digital data of vertical and horizontal synchronous signals, and controls the brightness with input voltage signal, while LCD Controller drives all corresponding interface lines.
Segment VFD Driver IC can be applied flexibly to a variety of applications, providing high-quality display solutions. Its operation voltage ranges from 2.7V to 5.5V, and it interfaces with an MCU through a serial interface circuit. The Segment VFD Driver IC is used for Electronic Scales, Home Appliances, Audio Player, and DVD Players.
